Overview of Chair Responsibilities:

As a committee chair, you’ll play a key role in organizing and leading your committee to support HJWC’s mission. Your responsibilities include budgeting (committee dependent), communication, event planning, and member engagement. Chairs help ensure their committees run smoothly while fostering a collaborative and enjoyable experience for members.

Attend the HJWC Leadership Seminar in the summer to kick off the club year.
Prepare a committee budget (as needed / committee dependent) and review it with the President and Treasurer during your scheduled budget meeting.
Participate in Board and General Meetings as often as possible to stay informed and engaged. A schedule is provided at the beginning of the year—Board Meetings are typically held on the last Tuesday of the month, and General Meetings on the second Tuesday, from September to May (with a break in December).
Host monthly Committee Meetings and share Board Meeting updates with your committee.
Track attendance and report to the 2nd VP/Membership.
Submit Weekly News updates to the 1st VP and social media posts to the Secretary.
Encourage participation in the annual Benefit and other club events.
Organize your committee to host a General Meeting. The President will assign your month to provide food.
